EXPEDITION GUIDING
Our guided expeditions are extremely bespoke and form from either an idea that a client brings to us or a trip that we are running where we will advertise places on our social media. So if you have an adventure in mind that you would love to see to fruition then let us know and we can start planning. Places we have been in the past include the desert cliffs of Wadi Rum in Jordan, The Moroccan Anti Atlas, the 6440m peak Cholatse in the Khumbu valley of Nepal and ski touring from a yacht on the remote Hornstrandir peninsula of Iceland. In 2026 we will be going to the Cordillera Blanca of Peru.

Insurance
It is essential that you take out good travel, rescue and cancelation insurance. The BMC and Global Rescue both do a comprehensive set up. Make sure that you have insurance that will cover any costs in the event that you cannot attend the trip due to injury or illness.
Kit
This will vary a lot depending on the type of expedition that we are planning but we will write you a specific kit list for the trip beforehand.
Additional Costs
All of the costs associated with the logistics will vary a lot depending on where we are going. You will need to cover these costs for yourself and the guides costs will be split amongst the group.
Guiding Fee
The daily rate for expedition guiding starts at £400 and includes all travel days. You will also have to cover all the guides expenses such as flights, food and accommodation etc.
Logistics
Expedition logistics can be extremely complicated and will depend on where in the world we are going, but things to think about are: international flights, domestic flights, transport once in country (4x4, bus, taxi), accommodation in cities while traveling, food shopping, peak permits, visas, national park fees, transporting large amounts of luggage to base camp (porters, donkeys, yaks). We will manage these details for you and often we take on the help of a local logistics company.
Season
A few example for prime season for various destinations around the world are:
Peru - June to September
Nepal - mid Sep to mid Nov
India - September to November
Kyrgyzstan - July & August
Bolivia - May to September
Morocco - October & November
Patagonia - Dec to Feb
Ratios
The guiding ratio will depend on the technical difficulty of the expedition. If we are primarily walking or skiing we could operate at 1:4 or 1:6, most climbing is carried out at a max ratio of 1:2, but 1:1 may be required for routes with a lot of technical difficulties. If you have a larger team, then more guides will be required.
